Responsibilities
  • Handle client matter related accounting functions, including but not limited to updating receipts and payments, disbursements recording and performing daily bank reconciliations
  • Handle daily operations of the clients' bank accounts and liaise with bankers to resolve clients' requests, including quotation of interest rates for placing time deposits and funds release
  • Manage clients’ bank accounts as well as the electronic banking platforms, including account opening, closing and maintenance
  • Maintain strong working relationships with bankers to resolve banking service issues in a timely manner
  • Ensure compliance of Firm policies and relevant rules and regulations such as Solicitors’ Accounts Rules and Anti Money Laundering Regulations
  • Handle requests and inquiries from both internal and external clients
  • Proactive in exploring ways to improve work efficiency of the team
  • Support ad hoc analysis and assignments as required
Qualification / Person Specification
  • Advanced diploma holder or above in Finance or Accountancy
  • Minimum 8 years relevant accounting experience preferably in legal industry with high-volume transaction exposure
  • Familiar with banking operations in handling receipts, payments and usage of various electronic banking platforms
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with confidence to interact with people at different levels both internally and externally
  • Proficient in using MS Office, particularly Word and Excel and knowledge of Aderant is an advantage
  • Good team player, mature and able to work in a fast-paced working environment
  • Strong time management skill, well organized, able to handle multi-tasks and self-motivated with “can do” attitude
  • Good command of spoken and written English and Cantonese
